Following the recent seizure of €2.1 Million in fake €50 notes,at the weekend Gardaí have seized another €20 Million in North Dublin, again consisting of €50 notes. This is one of the largest counterfeit cash seizures in the history of the state.
Searches were carried out in Artane and Coolock, leading to the seizure of a large quantity of fake cash in Baldoyle. The Special Detective Unit have arrested a 52 year old man in relation to the event. Computers and printing equipment were also seized.
Counterfeits have also been recently detected in Cork City.
