A multinational e-commerce corporation, facilitating online consumer-to-consumer and business-to-consumer sales with operations in about 30 countries.
The Problem
A major technology company needed a Cashless EPOS solution that was not only functional, but also in-line with their innovative image. The point of sale system they were using was dated and didn’t run as it should. The functionality of the system didn’t allow them to offer their staff the promotions and meal deals they wanted, they couldn’t check account queries or charge to an account if the person forgot their card. This in turn lead to longer queues, constant account discrepancies, loss in takings and took up a lot of the catering staff time trying to rectify these issues.
The Solution
Our solution was to install a new Uniware system that not only functions the way they want it too, but also provides a contemporary look in keeping with their offices. The new system provides staff with the UPay app, which allows them to manage their own accounts. Users can track their transactions and spending which means there are fewer discrepancies and account queries. This freed up a lot of catering staff time allowing them to focus their efforts elsewhere. If a customer forgets their card the operator can quickly search their name at the till and charge the meal to their account. The UPay app’s promotion and loyalty feature allows the business to reward their staff with various offers and incentives. These are automatically applied at the till making things much easier for the operating staff, and making training new staff on the till a ot quicker. If the internet fails, the systems can work offline and will back up all data to the cloud when it comes back online.
From a managerial point of view, the back-office features offers our customer a higher level of transparency and control. All data is stored on the cloud and can be accessed from anywhere. Reports are set up to run and be emailed automatically on a weekly basis. If the manager is off site, they can access the information they need on any device with an internet connect
The Outcome
All 1000 members of staff in Dublin are now using the UPay app to top-up and monitor their accounts. They have access to features like UPay Shop which allows them to pre-order meals to avoid queuing. The UPay Events feature was added to allow staff to book spaces in classes at their on-site gym. Following the success of this they soon hope to add personal training and physio therapy to this booking system.
The UPay app has now essentially become internal resources, It is a big part of everyday life for the staff and as additional features and functionality become available it will continue to grow with the company improving everyday life for their staff.
