Floor Mat Wandering Detection System

The floor mat wandering detection system is a system whereby should a person place weight on a mat, a signal is sent to a care provider that a patient has left their bed or area of requirement and may be in need of attention.

The mat is connected wirelessly to two receivers. One main repeater and one pager which is worn on the wrist of the individual supervising the patient giving them freedom to move around.

When weight more than 10kg is applied to the floor mat, a signal is primarily transmitted to the main repeater, and secondarily to the portable pager. An alarm is then sounded informing the guardian that weight has been applied to the mat, alerting them to check that the person is safe and helping to prevent accidents. At night, it is possible to set the portable receiver to a vibrate mode.

The floor mat and controller are battery operated, meaning that the mat can be placed anywhere that is needed without restriction.

Upon low power of the battery, the main repeater will display this, preventing battery loss and the system not being in use. The portable receiver is rechargeable, and battery level is displayed on it’s screen.

Once activated by weight, the mat can alarm up to 999 times until reset by a carer, ensuring that no activation is missed

A paging bell can also be linked to the system. This is pressed by the patient who requires assistance and sends a signal to the two receivers.
